Prior to this, I served as a short-term volunteer at Axium Education, an education NGO situated in the rural village of Zithulele. I joined his research group as I was particularly interested carbohydrate chemistry and its applications in the development of vaccines. I have varied skills in synthetic organic chemistry, with a significant knowledge in carbohydrate chemistry, being focused on glycoconjugates. I am team player and believe the best way to make progress in achieving a desired goal is through a collective group effort by members of different knowledge backgrounds. I am a reliable person who is hard-working, flexible and willing to learn new skills and knowledge. I am extremely passionate about being involved in the development of robust and affordable vaccines that can be distributed to the those in need in Africa and the rest of the world.
